Chie Shinohara's Red River Manga: The Summer Anime Adaptation You've Been Waiting For (2026)

Tatsunoko Production announced a TV anime adaptation of Chie Shinohara's Red River manga, set to debut this summer. The anime will be directed by Kōsuke Kobayashi, with Yoriko Tomita overseeing the scripts and Kenji Fujisaki designing the characters. Historical researchers include Kimiyoshi Matsumura and Daisuke Yoshida, members of the Japanese Institute of Anatolian Archaeology. Viz Media released the manga in English in 2004 and re-released it in 3-in-1 omnibus editions in 2024. The manga inspired a stage play by the Takarazuka Revue in 2018.
